Reverting to Islam
Hi,
I would like to revert to Islam soon. I live at Calamvale in Brisbane. I would like to learn how to pray so I can begin my journey as a practising muslim. I also would like advice about how to wear the hijab. I'm feeling nervous about wearing the hijab. Any advice would be most welcomed, Thank you

I am so excited that you wish to revert to Islam and I can't believe that no one has answered you yet.
I'm living in the northern suburbs of Brisbane but we are planning on moving near Kuraby soon. (Next few weeks).
I am very sorry that I do not know anyone closer to you, but if you want me to visit I can Insha Allah (God willing). I am also a revert to Islam and I have been Muslim for almost 9 years now (Al hamdu Lillah).
I am glad that you are thinking about wearing hijab already, us reverts tend to take baby steps so Al hamdu Lillah we get there. If you would like my MSN address to add me to messenger just send me a personal message and I will get back to you with my phone numbers and email address.

Nice to meet you. I'm not very good with this site and keep making lots of errors. I feel a little strange chatting in a forum, I usually just read and learn a bit more about people. Dear Ceria,
As I have been without internet access for some time now, I apologize for my late reply. I'm very happy to know that you live near to me and have experience in reverting to Islam. I'm very excited about becoming a muslim woman and have so many things to learn. I would like to go to classes at QU on friday nights and I am trying at the moment to arrange my work around those evenings. Things are very difficult for me as I have 4 children and I have to support them also and cater for their needs. I have read a huge amount of information on every aspect of Islam and I can say honestly for me, I just need to make the next step. Which is something I have been thinking about for more than 2 yrs now. My children have been a consideration I must admit but they are as pure and loving as anyone living in this world. I have come to realise that this is my decision and they will be be very supportive of me. I hope you can give some advice considering your experience, which may help me.

My husband was a revert 10 years ago Alhamdulillah (thanks God) and both of us still learning about Islam everyday, a lot of thing to learn to be a good muslim, but don't worry you do it step by step
Also there is a support for revert (or want to revert), ladies only at Kuraby Mosque (not inside the mosque but the house next to the mosque through the parking area) every tuesday morning at 9.30 am. I can visit you and we can go there together insyaAllah, just let me know how to contact you.

Assalam Alaikum
I am a new revert and I'm finding it hard to live with my current housemates as they are critical of my choice in religion. I have started wearing Hijab and to do so I have to leave the house first and change in the fuel station next door. I am looking for a new house to live in with fellow muslim sisters who will understand me. I am wondering if anyone can look out for me. My current rent is about $120 a week but I can go higher. PLEASE help me
